Vaccine Guidelines

Bay Crossing Family Medicine Vaccination Policy

We recommend vaccines for all of our patients per the CDC guidelines. Please visit https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/ for the most current CDC vaccine recommendations.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS- PLEASE NOTE:

For routine childhood vaccines, we expect families to make every effort to have their children vaccinated per CDC guidelines. Routine vaccines will be discussed at all pertinent office visits.

Unvaccinated children are at risk for serious illness or even death and pose a risk to our most vulnerable population. If a child has missed any routine recommended vaccines, we expect that they will be caught up over the first year of care at BCFM. Parents/guardians choosing alternatives to protecting their children through recommended vaccine schedules will be asked to sign a vaccine refusal form.

Children who are not fully vaccinated per CDC guidelines may be dismissed from the practice.

RATIONALE:

As medical providers, we know, and we want you to know, that the CDC recommended vaccines and their schedule are the results of years and years of scientific study and research, with data gathered on millions of children and adults, by thousands of the brightest scientists and physicians.

We understand that there has always been, and will likely always be, discussion surrounding vaccinations, but that discussion does not change the facts, the science, or the evidence about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

As medical professionals, we know that vaccinating on schedule is absolutely the right thing to do.

Delaying or breaking up vaccines over multiple visits goes against expert recommendations and can put you or your child at risk for serious illness or even death. These alternate vaccine schedules are not in alignment with our medical advice or our principles at Bay Crossing Family Medicine.

Sincerely,

Bay Crossing Family Medicine Clinicians and Leadership Team
